Improving people’s well-beings and creating a livable, business/tourist-friendly environment have remained one of the key tasks of Guangzhou in promoting the GBA development.

Efforts will be made in the following six aspects.

First, contribute to an ecological bay area. The city will exert more efforts to improve the ecological environment and create an attractive and livable Flower City.

Second, contribute to a business-friendly environment in GBA. The city will facilitate the educational cooperation with Hong Kong, further the cooperation with talents from key sectors of Hong Kong and Macao, and promote the construction of Guangzhou HR Services Industrial Park to set up Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Talent Cooperation Demonstration Zone.

Third, contribute to a cultural bay area. The city will promote the conservation and reuse of cultural heritage in GBA, advocate the excellent traditional culture, and join hands with Hong Kong and Macao to build a world-class gastronomic capital and Guangzhou-Hong Kong Horse-racing Economic Circle.

Fourth, contribute to a leisure bay area. The city will further the cooperation with Hong Kong and Macao to make GBA a world-class tourist destination.

Fifth, contribute to a healthy bay area. The city will support the medical and health care service providers from Hong Kong and Macao to set up their own facilities in Guangzhou, establish a cooperation & exchange mechanism for medical and health care practitioners, and develop an inter-city food traceability system and a food safety mechanism in GBA.

Six, contribute to people’s well-being in GBA. The city will encourage Hong Kong and Macao citizens to join the local pension program and medical insurance program, and encourage the cooperation in cross-border social relief, welfare and charities.
